Case 13
Washed-look joggers, about half the water.
How a loungewear brand kept its vintage washed look while switching to a lower-water dyeing process — placeholder case study.
The challenge
The brand’s best-selling joggers relied on a garment-dye and enzyme-wash finish that used a lot of water and gave uneven shades between lots. Its EU retailers were asking for data on water use.
Our solution
We moved dyeing to the yarn/fabric stage in a low-liquor-ratio machine, recreated the washed look with a short, low-temperature softening wash, and logged water per kilogram for each lot. Shade was approved against a physical standard under D65 light.
